Knowing what infographics are and how they can benefit your company in its marketing efforts are only the first step in making the best use of what they can do for a marketing campaign. In order to ensure that they are effective and deliver comprehensive information and knowledge to the public, there are a few tips that should be followed in their design.

The first is to keep them simple, clear, clean and concise. Each infographic that is used should focus on a single thought or answer a single question so that the reader does not get confused about the information that is being conveyed. The information that is being conveyed needs to be presented in a well-organized and interesting fashion that makes the reader feel the information is important for them to know.

Infographics and Their Benefits in a Marketing Campaign

Infographics, which is a combination of the words information graphics, are graphic visual representations of data, knowledge or information so that complex information can be presented clearly and quickly. By using a compact and creative approach to present information, infographics are able to convey knowledge and quickly engage its audience and enhance people’s ability to see patterns and trends.

There are typically three parts to all infographics. The first is the visual part which consists of the graphics and colors. Graphics, in turn, can be of two different types—theme and reference. The underlying visual representation of the data is considered the theme graphics and is included in all infographics while the reference graphics are the icons that represent specific sets of data and may not always be present in infographics. The content are the statistics and facts of the infographics and the last part is the knowledge which provides insight into the data that is being presented.

In recent years, the use of video marketing has been on the rise due to the lowered costs of production from the use of digital technology and the removal of many barriers of distribution due to the widespread use and availability of the Internet. A poll taken among senior marketing professionals in the United States by Flimp Media, ReelSEO and the Web Video Marketing Council found that at some point during 2013, nearly 93 per cent of marketers has used video as part of their online marketing campaigns while another 3 per cent that has not used it were planning to do so in the very near future.*
